Updates

This photo was taken in Sevierville, Tenn., after the drum corps show there in June. The two guys are best friends from school beginning in the fourth grade. They now attend different colleges and are horn sergeants for different corps. Both play lead trumpet and will age out this year.   Stacey Duggan (1989)
Stacey Duggan here.  After graduating from CHS in 1989, I marched four years with the Star of Indiana (see photo) and attended UTK.  I moved to Indiana in the 90’s and taught at many high schools, most notably Center Grove in Greenwood for about 5 years.  I just finished my Ph. D. in music at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, Bloomington where I currently work in the Percussion Department.  Former CHS teachers (Ed Freytag & Mike Lynch), alumni and myself co-authored two well-known rudimental books published in 1993 and 2003.  I get back to Cleveland often since my entire family is from Bradley County.  I’ll try to catch you guys at BOA Indy this fall. Good Luck.

My name is Tim White (left), I marched with CHS from 1979-1981. I played trumpet. During my junior year, I had to move to Oregon. I marched 1'st trumpet in the Sprague High School band from Salem, Oregon my junior year. I was drum major my senior year. During the summer of 1982, I marched with the Argonauts Drum and Bugle Corps from Salem, Oregon. I was the drum major with them that year. The fall of '83, I was drill writer for Sprague High School's marching band. They placed 1'st at the University of Oregon State Championships. 3'rd at the Northwest Music Bowl and 7'th at the West Coast Music Bowl.

I marched mellophone with the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle Corps in 1984. I then marched 1'st soprano (trumpet) in '85 and lead soprano in '86...my age out year. I worked on staff as a marching tech for Cleveland High School in 1988 and '89 under the direction of Mark Connell. I performed with the alumni drumline in 1989, playing tympani in the pit for the "Wizard of Oz" show.  I took time off to get married and have two great kids. I am still married to the same wonderful lady, Ondra. I've been married for 19 years. My son, Micah, plays trombone in his high school band. My daughter, Gracee, plays saxophone in her middle school band. In 2006, I was the visual and marching tech for the Lavergne High School Marching band, under the direction of Philip Simpson and former Cleveland High director Edward Freytag. I will be on staff for the 2007 season working in the same capacity. The band plans to perform the Broadway musical "Wicked" for the 2007 season. Watch for a gravity defying visual during the show.
